Frequently asked questions

We’ve always been big believers in cultural exchange and storytelling between grassroots builders and entrepreneurs across communities. The Public Roadshow stems from our founders’ experience advancing startup community initiatives, expanding from tech ecosystems to food ecosystems.

Our goal with the Roadshow is to meet our community of food lovers and makers, showcasing and spotlighting founders and builders changing the way we produce, distribute and consume in our cities. The Roadshow also provides a gathering platform for local community, industry and ecosystem partners across the country investing in cultivating local food startups and talent.

The Roadshow gathers food makers, startups and companies across food retail, hospitality and technology; along with local (and visiting) supporters, investors, stakeholders and policymakers interested in the growth of local food startup ecosystems.

Yes! You’ll be responsible for your own travel and accommodation costs to get there, but we’d love to have you explore communities with us on any stop of the Roadshow.

The day time bus tour runs from 10 am - 3 pm (approximately 4-5 hours), including multiple stops.

Featured stops include local food production facilities, food markets and halls, and food retail spaces. The tour will end at a venue hosting a Public community meetup + tasting camp event, open to the wider community.

Note that schedule, timing and stops are subject to change in each city.

Tour passes for each city are $119 CAD plus fees/taxes, and include all access to the bus tour, tastings, pitches, activities and drink/food tickets for the community meetup.

We host monthly meetups and events in each community, aimed at food lovers and makers. To coincide with the Roadshow, we’ll be hosting a special community meetup and tasting camp, involving food & beverage tastings and more. More information on this event will be provided soon!

We’re looking for startups building food brands, products, technology platforms and other solutions that are reimagining the way we produce, distribute and consume food in our cities. Ideally you have a product and/or brand already in-market, with early revenue, and aspirations to grow beyond your local community.

You can start by submitting this form. We'll review and be in touch to learn more and explore if you're a fit!

Our goal with the Roadshow is to share data and spotlight founders, companies and communities that we meet along the way. After each roadshow series, a report showcasing and highlighting what we discovered will be published, along with storytelling content and materials. We’ll also host follow-up meetups, roundtables and workshops in collaboration with local partners to keep the momentum going in each city.
